The flat out-and-back course starts and finishes on Langdon Street in downtown Montpelier. The race is known as Vermont's fastest 10K.
A large field of runners is expected for this iconic race. Five-year age group prizes will be awarded for the fastest female, male, and nonbinary finishers, starting with age group 10-14.
The Capital City Stampede does double duty as the Vermont Senior Games Association's state championship 10K road race. VSGA gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top male, female, and nonbinary finishers, in five-year age groups, starting with age group 50-54.
A 5K Power Walk has been added to this year's Stampede. Power Walkers will start two minutes after the runners. Prizes will be awarded to the top female, male, and nonbinary finishers, for age groups 10-29, 30-49, 50-69, and 70+.
The Stampede has sponsor support from Onion River Outdoors and National Life Group. There will be free refreshments and fun for all ages!
