Multi-instrumentalist and singer Ken Anderson and writer Rebecca Hall make up Hungrytown, a folk duo with beautiful arrangements, and remarkable vocal harmonies. Hungrytown creates pure acoustic American folk music and songs with Irish and Scottish influences. Singer Rebecca Hall has composed most of the songs, weaving modern themes into traditional song structures.
Based in Townsend, Vermont, Hungrytown have spent the last twenty years touring across the United States and the British Isles. Their songs and music have appeared in numerous television programs, including "Portlandia," Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" and Netflix's comedy "Lady Dynamite."
The Cabot Folk Club is a monthly concert series that offers the best in Vermont's acoustic music and songwriting talent. Inspired by New England "Coffeehouse" and English "Folk Club" models, each of the two sets--separated by a brief intermission--is opened with two songs by local musicians, followed by the featured performers. The Intermission features snacks, like cheese and crackers, and amazing baked goods provided by local volunteers--not to be missed. There's also a raffle. The persons with the selected tickets, handed out at the door, is offered a choice of one of the two items or "the mystery box." Win or not, it's always a lot of fun, and the music is always wonderful.
Hope to see you there!
