The Artistry of a Book!

Past event
May 11, 2024, 2 to 4 PM

Milton resident, 36-year Veteran of VT. National Guard, President of diversity consulting company, Empowering Gender Opportunities (EGO) and Author of 'Life At Camp: Combating the Sexism We Tolerate and why the military should take the lead.' Doris Sumner will join her book designer (artist and musician) Carrie Cook of Hyde Park at the Milton Artist Guild on May 11th from 2-4pm (After the Inclusion Festival).

How can we talk about the dark parts of fine things? Sometimes imagery, words, or music may surprise us, may jolt us, even offend us. If we can sit through the emotion, we may be able to develop an understanding, an appreciation, and hopefully inspiration. It is my hope, many will work through the 'uncomfortableness' of the topic of Life At Camp to come to appreciate the message and perhaps be inspired.
