Lists as Sparks for Creative Writing - Sarah Spletzer - Tuesday, April 30 - 6:30-8:30pm
From Sarah: I have been writing lists all my adult life. Writing lists can be a great practice for many reasons.
They can help us get ideas out of our head – and onto paper.
They can help us overcome our horror vacui – the fear of the blank page.
They can be a beautiful way to collect memories.
Making lists can be a fun and even funny thing to do – alone, or with friends and family.
All in all, writing lists can help us get to know ourselves - and each other - better.
In this workshop we are going to write short and long lists, fun and poetic lists and hopefully share one or the other written list with each other.
Sarah Spletzer grew up in Germany and studied art and dance therapy in the Netherlands. She moved to Cabot, Vermont in 2014 and is the mother of two active and creative children. With her business, movementum, she develops creative retreats for companies, and individuals, and teaches art classes in schools.
When Sarah was growing up, she wanted to become a writer and dreamed of inspiring readers to imagine new and fantastic worlds. She deeply enjoyed being the wordsmith and creator of her new book Make A List, available at the Cabot Library.
