Pierce's Store in North Shrewsbury will be hosting a wine tasting this Friday from 4pm to 6pm featuring 5 tasty wines from Portugal, which is probably the most under-rated wine country in Europe. And the wines are often super affordable because they are not as well known as those from France, Spain or Italy. We'll start with a bright, crisp Vinho Verde ($8.99 for a bottle), followed by a lively rosé ($8.99) and a fuller, more subtle white wine made from the Alvarinho grape ($15.99). We'll conclude with two reds from Portugal's signature regions, one from Dão (at a deep sale price of $10.99) and one from Douro ($17.99, also on sale). Hope to see you there!
