Wednesday night at 6:30pm at Vermont National Golf Course, 1227 Dorset Street, the "Community Visioning Week" continues. Come be a "placemaker" --- bringing your ideas and energy to the discussion and placemap exercise.

The area around Chittenden Cider Mill is zoned as "SEQ Village Area" to provide services, connections and places for nearby residents. Overall connectivity remains a concern for all the SEQ. Come make a vision that is livable, enjoyable, sustainable and human-scaled. Help chart the future for us.

Objectives for the Placemapping & connectivity exercise:

- Have participants assess their neighborhood collectivity in a way that rarely, if ever is done as a group

- At the neighborhood scale level, identify the assets that contribute to the sense of place and barriers that inhibit it

- Help participants proactively present to the City of South Burlington and its consultants with input on how to update its current zoning and codes to make their place function at its fullest level.

- Create grassroots input instead of the conventional approach of having experts presents ideas for the community to react to.

- The desired outcome of this stage is a diagnosis of values, activities and reaction to physical form (e.g. the expansive parking lots along Route 7 make it uncomfortable to work to shopping and dining) rather than actual solutions, although solutions can be discussed as starter ideas to help visualize the issues.
