The School budget failed - now what? Do you have thoughts on the future of our Middlesex schools? Make your voice heard, and learn about the MAJOR changes to education that are underway here in Middlesex. Attend the school board meeting this Wednesday, March 13th, 6:15 - 9:15pm at U-32 high school.
On Town Meeting day, voters rejected the WCUUSD budget proposed to fund schools in Middlesex and surrounding towns. So what now?
The WCUUSD school board will be meeting often over the next few months to re-imagine school funding. Major changes to Rumney and Doty are proposed. The budget that was just voted down called for eliminating kindergarten at Rumney - and instead bussing kindergartners to Doty next year. Yes - you heard that right - eliminating Kindergarten at Rumney and relocating it to Doty in Worcester. This and other significant changes are underway. Spending cuts are necessary to ensure a reasonable tax rate. This affects your kids, your taxes, your property values, your community. We all have busy lives, but now is the time to Pay Attention!
