At OLLI: How Iceland's Elves Can Save the Earth

Past event
Mar 6, 2024, 1 to 2 PM

Author Nancy Marie Brown believes that, in this time of climate crisis, Iceland suggests a different way of thinking about the earth, one that offers hope. Sharing her own encounters with Iceland's "Otherworld," Brown reveals how the stories we tell shape the world we see. She argues that our beliefs about the Earth will preserve, or destroy, it. Brown is the author of nine nonfiction books about Iceland. She worked as a university science writer and editor and now writes from a farm in the NEK while watching Icelandic horses in the field.
