You are invited to the Winter Update of the Chittenden Asylum Seekers Assistance Network (CASAN) on Tuesday, February 20 from 7:00-8:00pm via Zoom. Register below to receive the link.
Our grassroots non-profit group of volunteers in Chittenden County assists local families who are in the legal process of seeking asylum. Asylum seekers, unlike refugees, are not allowed to receive most kinds of government benefits and need to wait to apply for a work permit, and so our group was formed in 2019.
We are honored to share uplifting stories about these courageous people as they build new lives in safety – families who receive "wrap-around" assistance until they can be on their own, as well as those helped in other ways that provide a needed "bridge."
Learn of advocacy work being done at the state and federal level, as well as current needs and ways support is needed – financially and through a wide range of volunteer activities. Your help is needed to welcome these new neighbors!
