The Vermont Astronomical Society kicks off the New Year 2025 with two presentations:
First - 2024 VAS Wrap-up by President Terri Zittritsch
1) Eclipse
2) Aurora wide spread on multiple occasions
3) Comet 2023/A3 Tcuchinshan-Atlas
4) Solar Maximum
Second - So, You Want to be an Astronaut by Cale Shipman
There might be many reasons to resist that thought. Captain Kirk aside, space travel is not for sissies.
Following the main presentation, our recurring monthly presentations will include Constellation of the Month by Terri Zittritsch.
All Meetings are Free and Open to the Public: In-person and via Zoom

The Vermont Astronomical Society is a group of amateur astronomers with varying backgrounds and levels of expertise whose mission is to promote amateur astronomy in Vermont. If you spend your clear nights looking up at the stars and wondering which constellations you are seeing, wish you knew the names of the most brilliant stars, or where to find the planets currently visible, we can help.
