In his 55 year professional career, Paul Asbell has earned a reputation as a "musicians' musician. While in his hometown of Chicago, he played and recorded with Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, Paul BuƩerfield, Magic Sam, Pops Staples, Earl Hooker, and many other blues heroes. After moving to Vermont, he founded the group Kilimanjaro, which eventually joined forces with Big Joe Burrell to become longtime regional favorite The Unknown Blues Band.
