Greetings from Calvary Episcopal Church on Rte 15 (Big Red Doors next to Jericho Market). Many of you have enjoyed our soup and bread suppers over the years, which are held on the last Thursday of the month. We pair the event with a free-will offering to local organizations or causes not associated with the church. These suppers have regained their numbers after rebounding from Covid and we would now like to add a twist - music !
The supper will continue to be held in our Undercroft (fancy Episcopalean speak for basement) from 5 to 7 PM. Music will be conducted upstairs in the sanctuary starting at 6PM until whenever. Our next supper will be Friday, November 30th and we figured it might be fun to have an open mic (organ, Clavinova, guitar?) sing-along of holiday music. Think of it as dinner and a movie (well, music) for the whole family. Come for a bit and stay as long as you'd like.
Our free-will offering will be for CHAMP, Champlain Adaptive Mounted Program, a therapeutic horse riding program at Good Hope Farm in South Hero. CHAMP serves individuals with physical, emotional, behavior and cognitive challenges.
If you are interested in playing, we'd love to have you! Definitely the more the merrier. Drop us a line so we can plan a bit. Would be great to see some kiddos tickling the ivories too. We'll have a few more postings to get the word out.
In the future we're hoping we could provide everything from music to poetry to storytelling. And, BTW, if you haven't had John K's Cheddar Ale soup, you haven't lived.
