Got a few ukulele chords and an ok-ish strum? Are you fine with chords and strums but need help making a song sound like ... well, a song? Sign up for the Ukulele Skillbuilder course through CVU Access and we'll work on the tools and skills that can help lift your playing off the page. All you need is a song in your heart and an adventurous spirit! Yep - I do say that for all my classes, and it really is true. Let your heart sing and your playing will follow happily along.

NOTE: This class is for adults ages 18+. It does not cover baritone ukulele chords, but many aspects of the class can apply to baritones as well. If you have a uke tuned to gCEA, you're good to go!

This is not a square 1 starter class. If you've taken a Level 1 class or have some uke experience, you'll do fine. To shine, you'll want to have at least C, Am, F, and G7 chords at your fingertips, and at least a fairish strum. We'll work on:

- Chord transitions
- Strumming patterns (let's get that tropical strum down, among others!)
- Texture techniques, like the fan strum and the chunk
- Fingerpicking
- Playing well with others in a jam
- That gnarly bar chord! It took me years to learn that thing. I'll boil it down so it won't take as long for you!
- A teensy, non-scary bit of music theory
- ... and we'll sing lots of songs along the way!
