TINMOUTH STORIES Tinmouth Old Firehouse Friday, Nov. 3 – 7:00-8:00 pm
Please join us at the 2nd in an ongoing series of storytelling evenings at the Tinmouth Old Firehouse. The evening is free to all (though donations are welcome to cover heat/electric), and snacks will be provided.
The theme / prompt for stories on Nov. 3 will be "Second Chances", and you can take that idea wherever your memory takes you!
All are invited to share a true story, about Tinmouth or not, from the past, present, or future. Do you remember an event, a special person, a fun time or event, the possibilities are endless!
You can come and listen, you do not need to tell a story – and something you hear may prompt you to tell your own story! All are welcome.
WHAT IS A STORY SLAM – STORYTELLING EVENT?
A Story Slam is an open mic event in which audience members share stories. Based on a poetry slam format and similar to open mic musical gatherings, or American Idol, or The Moth (public radio storytelling show). A Story Slam is a fun, low pressure chance to share stories.
Each month, we set a theme and invite people from the audience to share a personal story from their lives that relate to that theme. Storytellers (slammers) sign up on the night of the event to tell a 5-minute story on the evening's theme. And, if you're in the audience, you can decide in the moment to participate, too.
Participants are randomly chosen. Depending on how much interest there is, everyone will be able to tell their story.
