Welcome to a handcrafting workshop where kids design and build shelters, games and toys. This 6 week introduction to woodworking and the safe use of basic tools also demonstrates how to creatively approach problem solving as a team. Under the guidance of an experienced teacher, students will learn how to:
Safely work in a shop environment
Use measuring tools and calculate cuts
Use hand saws, drills and screwdrivers
Hand sand for smooth finish
Class meets one day weekly from 3:00pm-5:00pm (hours are also available for homeschoolers). Please call for scheduled dates. Eye and ear protection is provided. For the safety of all students, class sizes are limited to 5. Our finished creations and inventions will be unveiled to families and friends at an exhibition on Saturday November 15th, 2014.
$200 with $25 materials fee
4th-6th graders (ages 9-11)
