This presentation will help you better understand East Monkton history, as our three local historians share their journey of gathering and sharing this story.
We hope to see many new and familiar faces Monday evening virtually or in person.
Thank you,
Kristen B. Farrell
Monkton Museum & Historical Society President
Here is an invitation for you:
Diving Into Monkton's History: Join three of our MMHS members (Lauren Parren, Candace Polzella, Cindy Walcott) to hear their two-year journey into exploring Monkton's Past. They'll describe their work on three projects: the Monkton Ridge Walking Tour, Cataloging the MMHS collection, and the publication of the East Monkton History book. Included will be tips for accessing local historical information for anyone else interested in doing research, lessons learned along the way, and evidence that history is alive! They'll conclude with an invitation to consider future research possibilities.
Copies of the new book will be available at the meeting for $12. It is also free online https://www.monktonhistory.org/wp-content/uploads/East_Monkton_History.pdf
Also, please remember that it is the stories of people who lived here who make our history uniquely interesting. Please send in any stories or photos or other memorabilia to this form: https://tinyurl.com/y6n7etby
