Managing Invasive Plants on Her Land: a WOW Event

Past event
Oct 14, 2023, 9:30 AM to 12 PM

Do you have invasive plants on your land but aren't sure what to do about them?

Or have you tried controlling them but feel like you aren't making any headway?

You're not alone! Join other women for an interactive workshop that will help you develop an invasive plant management plan, including tips on when and how to work with an invasive plant contractor, and learn techniques for controlling several invasive plant species.

While we won't focus a lot of time on plant identification, we will cover basic identification of some species, including common and glossy buckthorn, Japanese and common barberry, honeysuckle, and poison parsnip. Come ready to share your own tips, tricks or questions. Learn more and register: https://vlt.org/events/managing-invasive-plants-on-her-land-a-women-owning-woodlands-vt-workshop/

This event is hosted by Women Owning Woodlands Vermont, a collaborative women-centered community that shares information and offers support for people who take care of Vermont's forests. Steering committee members include women professionals from Vermont Coverts, Vermont Woodlands Association, Vermont Land Trust, Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation.
