The next meeting of Citizens’ Climate Lobby-Burlington will be from 12:50 to 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 6, at Ruggles House, 262 S Prospect St, Burlington. We’ll start with the international conference call, and then continue with our local reports and plans.

Rear Admiral Len Hering Sr. (retired), Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable Energy, will be the guest speaker on the conference call. He will outline the impact of climate change on national security. While in the Navy, he built a team that reduced energy consumption by nearly 42%, diverted 75% of Navy waste from landfills and reduced water consumption by more than one billion gallons. He instigated adoption of wind, thermal, photovoltaic and conversion technology at all levels in Navy facilities.
