On Wednesday (OCT 4) at 2:20PM the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be conducting two nationwide TEST Alerts.

The first will be a text message to all cell phones, this text message will note it is a TEST of the national wide system. Your phone will make a special sound alerting you of this TEST emergency message.

The second will be alerts on radio and television, again mentioning a TEST of the nationwide system.

These periodic tests are to ensure the nationwide alert system is functioning properly so in the event of a real emergency messages are able to be relayed.
