Friends of the Winooski River is partnering with the Town of Plainfield to hold a river cleanup this Saturday, September 30th. A large amount of trash was dumped on Plainfield during the July flood, and a lot of hands will be needed to retrieve it.
Please consider helping out our upstream neighbors to do some very satisfying work! Most of the cleanup will be done on the banks, rather than the river itself, but volunteers should plan to get dirty and wear appropriate clothes, shoes, and sun & insect protection. The footing in some areas may be tricky.
We'll be meeting at the Plainfield RecField at 9am, then dividing into groups to go to several different sites along the river. For more information, contact heather@winooskiriver.org
