This Sunday, a number of state legislators participated as a team in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's. As we gathered, we began to talk about what had brought us to Shelburne that morning.
Nearly all who are reading this announcement know, or have cared for, a loved one living with dementia.
As a follow-up to Sunday's Walk and in recognition of World Alzheimer's Day, we wanted to share the news about a new film you can see for free at Contois Auditorium next Wednesday. A coalition of Vermont organizations (The Alzheimer's Association Vermont Chapter, AARP of Vermont, Vermont Department of Health, COVE, Cathedral Square, and SASH (Support and Services at Home) is sponsoring a statewide premiere of the documentary "Keys Bags Names Words," a film about people living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias who share stories of heartbreak and hope in aging. You can view the trailer here: https://www.keysbagsnameswords.com/.
The Burlington (FREE) screening is next Wednesday, September 27th at Contois Auditorium.
Doors open at 6:45 with a Community Resource Fair. The movie starts at 7:00 and is followed by a community conversation. The venue is handicapped accessible.
