Cambridge Historical Society will hold their sixth annual VICTORIAN TEA on Sunday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the museum, 12 Broad St., Cambridge, NY.
In addition to tea there will be a variety of savories and sweets and a live fashion show presented by Phyllis Chapman, well-known Museum Educator and Living History Entertainer.
The Gilded Age in America, from 1870 – 1914, was a period of immense wealth, ostentation in dress and architecture, and lavish parties—for the few. The new millionaires worked to make even more money as their wives dressed to show off their wealth. Join us for a live historic fashion show presenting bustles and leg-o-mutton sleeves, ball gowns and sportswear, wedding gowns and travel ensembles. Find out just what they were wearing as they changed clothes at least four times a day!
Cost is $25 per person by reservation only. Reservations will close on October 3rd or until sold out.
Contact Lois Sheaff, 2132 SR 22, Cambridge, NY 12816. This is a very popular event so make your reservation(s) early....you won't be disappointed.
