The story follows Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy grows up thinking he's an elf despite his poor toy-making abilities and large size. Upon discovering his true identity, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs, a cynical businessman on Santa's "naughty" list.
