Alzheimer's September Gathering (virtual)
Friday, September 8th at noon
RSVP for the link: https://p2a.co/Umpk4qw
At noon on September 8th advocates, caregivers, Vermonters with Alzheimer's and other dementias, and staff and interns from the Vermont Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will gather for a monthly update. All are welcome to join us.
This month we will open with a presentation on preventing Medicare fraud. Medicare fraud has become a $65 billion problem each year and is impacting the physical and financial health of Vermont seniors. Learn what Medicare beneficiaries, family members, and caregivers on the front lines can do to stop it.
We will also be finalizing our plans for advocacy at the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Shelburne, Rutland and St. Johnsbury. These events are opportunities to share the impact of advocacy and invite participants to tell their story to help us advance policy and funding for Alzheimer's.
And, we will be sharing the trailer for an international documentary on dementia. We are working with a coalition to show this film around Vermont on World Alzheimer's Day, taking place later this month. This moving documentary will be a fabulous tool to build awareness, destigmatize dementia, and engage communities in advocacy.
