Open House for Restored 1917 "Honeymoon Cabin" Sat. Aug. 26 from 10-1

The restored "Honeymoon Cabin" will be open for your peek into life in 1917 on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10-1. The cabin is located next to the Old White Meeting House which houses Granny's Attic which also will be open on Saturday.

The cabin was built to accommodate the influx of tourists traveling to So. Hero on the Rutland Railroad Passenger Train which ran through the islands from 1900-1960. Tourists were picked up at the train Station and driven by horse and buggy to the South Hero Inn which is now the community bank.

There will be lemonade and light refreshments and we hope to see you there! Look for the article about the cabin written by Michael Frett that will be in this week's Islander newspaper.

Then hop across the road and visit the So. Hero Museum which is also open 10-1. We have many new exhibits this summer and new artifacts.
