Bread & Bones folk trio, comprised of Ripton's own Beth Duquette and Richard Ruane with Mitch Barron on bass, will perform at Stone Valley Arts on Friday, August 11 at 6:00pm-7:15pm as part of the center's Front Porch Music Series. If the weather is comfortable, we will be outside. Otherwise, we will be in the air-conditioned first-floor gallery.
In addition to original music, the trio also performs traditional songs from America, the British Isles, and jazz standards. Some of their songs harken back to traditional ballads and jazz tunes from the 30's, but also remain firmly rooted in life's current challenges and joys. Ruane sings and provides inventive instrumental backing on guitar, tenor guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, and ukulele. Duquette contributes lead and inspired harmony vocals. Ruane and Duquette perform with a comfortable ease and audience rapport that comes from many years of collaboration and love of creating music together.
A suggested donation of $10 is requested, more if you can, less if you can't.
