Coming up Thursday on Central Vermont Community Radio: Options for downtowns that are repeatedly flooded (other than abandonment), and frequently asked questions about assistance for flood recovery.
9:00 - 10:00 am
Kevin Geiger at Two Rivers-Ottauqueechee Regional Commission is one of the more knowledgeable and articulate people I've repeatedly interviewed about how we can build more flood resilience into our buildings and our landscapes. He'll talk, among other things, about things that could be done to allow downtowns to come back faster after a flood, as well as ways to work upstream to prevent flooding.
People whose lives were upended by the July flood still have many questions about assistance options available. A FEMA representative will be on the air, answering the most common ones they've received, and your phone calls with questions are welcome.
10:00 - 10:30 am
We'll continue flood-related special coverage, and, as time permits, have the regular program segments of Resilience Thoughts, a locally told Extempo story, and more.
Please tune in! Relocalizing Vermont runs Thursdays, 9:00 - 10:30 am Eastern, on WGDR Plainfield 91.1 FM / WGDH Hardwick 91.7 FM / streaming at wgdr.org, with on-demand streaming for two weeks after air date.
