Public Hearing

Past event
Aug 1, 2023, 5 to 7:30 PM

From the Responsible Wakes for VT Lakes website:
"Join fellow lake-lovers on Tuesday, August 1 to help support and strengthen the Department of Environmental Conservation's proposed rule to restrict wakeboats. Because of the recent flooding in Montpelier, the location of the rally and hearing has been moved to the library in Richmond, Vermont, between Montpelier and Burlington. We'll meet for a rally in the Library at 4:00 PM, then stay for the 5:00 hearing. You'll hear eyewitness testimony from Vermonters who have experienced the worst effects of these new and powerful boats, and become a part of a major environmental advance for Vermont. Without a massive show of public support at this hearing, we will not get a strong rule to protect our lakes."

Go to: https://dec.vermont.gov/watershed/lakes-ponds/rulemaking very soon to sign up to speak and for information on other another opportunities to express your thoughts (by early August).
