The workshop, geared for beginners and intermediates, ages 16 and up (younger people with a passion to participate are also welcome). "I love teaching curious students how to take their enthusiasm for nature and art to the next level—their independent interpretation of the world around them," says Buckwalter.
The goal of the workshop is for each student to learn both drawing techniques and an awareness to develop their own artistic process of connecting directly with nature through observation and fun experimentation. "Nature Journaling" will take place on Hildene's wooded trails where students will study and draw plants, small animals, and more.
Participants in will employ graphite pencils and watercolors. Space is limited; registration is required by August 3: $25 for members, $30 for non-members, which includes materials. Contact Stephanie at (802) 367-7960 or stephanie@hildene.org.
