Storytelling workshops for seniors are launching the Creative Aging outreach programming by Stone Valley Arts. This 3-session series is SVA's first collaborative venture with the Young at Heart Senior Center of Poultney, SVA. This team-taught project is designed to guide people to discover a story from a photograph, to develop that story so that it can be told both in writing and orally, and to explore methods for sharing these stories with relatives and friends. Participants are asked to bring one or two photos that recall pleasant memories to the first session.
Led by two professionals in the fields of storytelling and theatre, Hears Crow and Ruth Liberman, the sessions are FREE and open to all seniors. The three sessions take place on July, 12, 19, and 26, 2023 from 12:30-2:00pm at the Young at Heart Senior Center. All sessions will take place at YAHSC. It is with gratitude that SVA thanks its funders: The Ben and Jerry's Foundation and the Poultney United Fund for their support of this exciting opportunity.
The Young at Heart Senior Center is located at 206 Furnace St., Poultney, VT 05764, and on the web at https://poultneyyahsc.com . Those interested in registering for the event should contact YAHSC at 802-287-9200.
