The Guilford Community Church is sponsoring a free Father's Day card-making workshop on Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m.-noon for children ages 3-10 in the church's Zeller Hall under the sanctuary.
The hope is that this becomes an annual event, an opportunity to make art with family, friends and neighbors the day before Father's Day.
According to organizers, cut shapes (flowers, butterflies, trucks, hearts, stars, etc.) with glue and markers will be provided so children can make an individualized message for their father.
Parents are asked to pre-register their children by calling Debra at GCC at (802) 257-0994 or email guilfordchurch@gmail.com before June 15 on a first-come-first serve basis so that there will be enough supplies for all participating.
Teens will be present to assist the art instructor but parents are also welcome to lend a hand, make a card themselves, or enjoy the respite and socialize with other parents.
Light refreshments will be available for sale to help support the re-launch of the church's youth and family programs, which include Sunday school classes and an interfaith youth group with community service projects and trips for teens.
Directions to 38 Church Drive: 1-91 to Vermont Exit 1 (Brattleboro), south on Route 5 to just past the Guilford Country Store, left on Bee Barn Road, left again on Church Drive.
