The next monthly meeting of Citizens’ Climate Lobby - Burlington will be from 3:30 to 5:40 pm, Sunday, August 3, at Ruggles House, 262 S Prospect St, Burlington.
We’ll start with the international conference call, and then continue with our local reports and plans. On the call the guest speaker will be Gen. Wesley Clark (ret.), former NATO Supreme Allied Commander. He will discuss the impact climate change is having on national security. Following his military service and a campaign for president in 2004, Clark founded Wesley K. Clark & Associates, which uses his expertise, relationships, and extensive international reputation and experience in the fields of energy, alternative energy, corporate and national security, logistics, aerospace and defense, and investment banking. The local portion of the meeting will focus on end-of-summer and early-fall activities.
Concerned about climate change, but don’t know what you can do? Join Citizens Climate Lobby. Dr. James Hansen, climate scientist, former head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies and grandfather has said "If you want to join the fight to save the planet, to save creation for your grandchildren, there is no more effective step you could take than becoming an active member of this group.”
