Music at 5: Patrick Fitzsimmons is a talented poet and a captivating, soulful performer in the folk-rock singer/songwriter tradition. His performance this week comes to you courtesy of Owl’s Head Blueberry Farm, where there are now tons of very sweet blueberries ripe for the picking. Check out their picking hours and live music calendar at OwlsHeadFarm.com and get the berries while they’re at their best.

Produce this week: Speaking of blueberries, if you are not up for picking your own, the Last Resort Farm is offering a blueberry special this week: flat of 12 pints for $60 (regular price is $6/pint = $72). Also, beautiful pickling cukes perfect for bread and butter or dill pickles, a half bushel for $20. Pre-orders appreciated (453-2847).

You’ll also find at the market this Friday: raspberries, currants, mulberries, string beans, salad greens, cucumbers, carrots, micro greens, radishes, yellow squash, zucchini, garlic, new potatoes, heirloom and other tomatoes, basil, mint, parsley, and other herbs, specialty peppers, scallions, fennel, pea shoots, garlic scapes, spinach, braising greens, kale (4 kinds!), beets, beet greens, chard, cabbage, broccoli, eggplant, shishito peppers, shiitake mushrooms, sunflowers and more.

Other groceries: quail & quail eggs (new vendor!); goat cheese; pasture-raised chicken, beef, pork, & eggs; pesto; chocolate truffles; maple syrup; bread; muffins, cookies; maple candies; wine (Huntington River Vineyard).

Dining options: SamosaMan (samosas, curries); Pie Empire (Australian meat pies); Maple Wind Farm (grilled burgers, hotdogs, and sausages); Kadric’s (Eastern European cuisine); Maple Tree Tea (iced teas and lemonade); and Knick-Knackatory’s shaved ice & cookies (including gluten-free options).

Crafts: cards and prints; pottery; soaps and lotions; henna tattoos; journals; hair accessories.

Debit cards and EBT are welcomed. EBT expenditures are matched dollar for dollar, up to $10 per market day, with coupons. Gift certificates available. Park in the Volunteer’s Green side of the lot, or the Town Center or Rec field lots. Better yet, arrive by bicycle or on foot! Please leave parking spaces in front of On the Rise for bakery patrons.
