Stowe Land Trust Land Stewards, chainsaw volunteers, and Stowe Land Trust Conserved Property Landowners sign up by July 7 to receive a free priority spot. Remaining slots are open to the general public at $20 per person (financial assistance available). Cap of 15 people. Minimum of 8 people for program to run. RSVP required.
Have you ever tried to follow an Stowe Land Trust property boundary with a map or compass and gotten turned around? Have you ever wondered what that triple blazed tree means? If so, this workshop is for you. Join Carolyn Loeb, Stowe Land Trust's Conservation Program Manager and VT Forest Parks and Recreation Land Survey Technician Robert Rives as we practice reading survey maps, taking compass bearings, walking boundary lines, and deciphering what different types of boundary markings mean in the woods.
Come prepared to be outdoors off-trail and bring a compass if you own one.

Who: Suitable for ages adults+. Moderate physical activity required, including hiking and navigating off trail.
What: Introduction to walking boundaries, navigating off trail, and the use of survey maps and compasses.

When: Monday, July 17, 2-5 pm
Why: Learn new skills and gain confidence in navigating the woods. Become a more effecient Stowe Land Trust volunteer by learning how to identify and read property boundaries.
Cost: Free for Stowe Land Trust land stewards, conserved property landowners, and chainsaw volunteers. $20/person for general public.
