Waterbury voters: Please attend Town Meeting and voice vote yes on Articles 8 & 9.
Let's strengthen direct democracy. Town Meeting Day is a Vermont tradition where local matters are decided by floor/voice vote. Only people with the time and physical ability to attend in person can vote. Like the school district budget and elected officials, it's time for the town budget and other matters to be decided by Australian ballot.
"Article 8: Shall the Town of Waterbury adopt all budget articles by Australian ballot pursuant to 17 V.S.A § 2680(c), as opposed to a traditional floor vote?"
"Article 9: Shall the Town of Waterbury vote on all public questions by Australian ballot pursuant to 17 V.S.A § 2680(d), as opposed to a traditional floor vote?"
If you agree, please help share the word. More info and social media templates: https://sites.google.com/view/vote-yes-2025
If this does not resonate with you, I appreciate and respect that. However, I respectfully ask, who do you know that can't attend Town Meeting? What are their barriers? Is there an easier or more cost-effective solution than Australian ballot to overcome those barriers?
