Art sometimes describes feelings and ideas better than words. Classical music's lure, a critic recently said, is "its ability to summon up feelings that literally surpass words, and give us that uniquely musical experience of being overwhelmed." Art also sometimes speaks to, and even explains something, purely through images – a painting, a sculpture, or a photograph. And art sometimes speaks to defeats, frustrations, and goals not yet met but still sought, urging persistence.
The Worcester Arts Festival is Saturday, June 10, and the registration deadline for showing your art at the festival is almost here – this coming Wednesday, May 10. There is no entry fee or commission, and participants will be offered an honorarium.
