IT'S HERE! Green Up Day - a 53-year community tradition of keeping Vermont clean and green!

On Saturday, May 6th from 9 to 2, join neighbors and friends doing their part to clean up East Montpelier. For all of you greening up -- here's a round-up of details:

TALKING TRASH
- Pick up Green up bags at Bragg Farm Sugar House, Dudley Store, East Montpelier Elementary School (parking lot), Fox Market, Morse Farm, NorthCountry Federal Credit Union, and outside the Town Office.
- Be cautious as you pick litter. Do let us know the areas you plan to pick up litter so we don't duplicate efforts. A bonus would be you keeping cans and bottles in separate bags from trash.
-If you come across heavy items and would rather not lift them, call us 970-631-3789 (Erin) or 802-793-6687 (Chris) with the location and we'll assign pick-up.
- Random tires - note location and number (if possible) and call us with this information
- Bring trash bags to East Montpelier Elementary School where a crew of volunteers will collect your bags.

LUNCH
After you green up, stop by the school cafeteria for our not-to-miss lunch. There's home-made sandwiches and cookies made by our neighbors accompanied with beverages.

BE SAFE AS YOU GREEN UP!
It's important to PLEASE keep yourself and your family SAFE as you pick litter.
- Wear long pants tucked into socks, avoid tall grass, and when you're done, check for ticks from head to toe.
- Do not pick needles, carcasses, or hazardous waste.
