"Green Drinks" Night - Join Us

Past event
May 24, 2023, 6 to 8:30 PM

What brings you joy? How much stuff is enough stuff? Why do we keep buying what we don't need? How much can humans live without? Or is it better to think of what we live with? What does it take to create harmony in our lives while we observe the changes taking place on Earth? Why is it so difficult to change our consumption habits?

You're invited to join in a conversation, answering some of the above, or other thoughts that you bring. We'll gather at Backyard Bistro on Rt. 7 in Charlotte to drink, eat, and share ideas on Wednesday May 24 at 6 pm.

The purpose of the international movement of "green drinks" nights is to deepen community ties, know more of our neighbors, and even walk away with something new to think about how we live on our beautiful, blue planet.

This is the first evening of Green Drinks and we're hoping to do it again in the fall. Do you have a topic you'd like to share? Contact Sustainable Charlotte at info@sustainablecharlottevt.org. And check out our website at www.sustainablecharlottevt.org.

Green Drinks is an informal, festive gathering that dates back to 1989 in North London, England. It's a chance for us to eat, drink and chat with our neighbors about the well-being of our community, both natural and human.

A quote from the Green Drinks website, www.greendrinks.org: "There are lots of benefits to Green Drinks; they are hard to quantify, but when you have seen people come and make new link and learn and argue and set up new schemes and get new jobs, etc., it is a good feeling."
