Our fascia is our body's most sensory-rich organ. Working with this connective tissue has many benefits, including a decrease in pain and tension in the body, increased proprioception (awareness of body in space) and interoception (awareness of internal sensations), and increased range of motion.
In this 3 part series, we'll learn about some of the properties of fascia, fascial types, and explore techniques for rolling and myofascial release to support your specific structural patterns and to ease pain and tension. We'll also play with fascial stretching, elasticity training, increasing sensory awareness, fascial hydration and more. We will discuss and locate some of the myofascial meridians as mapped out by Tom Myers, creator of Anatomy Trains, with each class focusing on a particular fascial territory: Superficial Front Line, Superficial Back Line, and Lateral Lines.
Rolling tools will be provided and will be available for purchase in class.
This series is appropriate for the very stiff, the very flexible, and everyone in between!
