Hey everyone! MALT is holding an invasive species removal event on May 13th from 9:30AM-11:30AM at Otter View Park
Invasive Species are non-native plants that have been introduced to an ecosystem by humans. Often, these plants compete with important native plants for space and resources and can cause issues throughout the ecosystem. Garlic Mustard and Poison Parsnip are the main invasive species that threaten this piece of land, and you can make a measurable difference at OVP by showing up and helping us remove them.
No experience or plant I.D. knowledge is required. MALT staff will train all volunteers on how to effectively I.D. and remove plants on May 13th.
Just register at maltvt.org/events/tam-work-party-jmlc4 so we know to expect you, show up with long pants, long sleeves, work gloves, and any garden trowels or small digging tools you have. MALT will have some work gloves and garden trowels, but extras will be helpful!
You can find more info on our event page or email us at info@MALTVT.org with any questions.
Thanks,
