Music & Poetry at the Shelburne Town Hall

Past event
May 10, 2023, 6 to 7:45 PM

Come enjoy an evening of chamber music and poetry at the Shelburne Town Hall on Wednesday, May 10th. This performance pairs works of poetry and prose with pieces for string quartet, creating a uniquely rewarding and reflective experience.

Musical works include compositions by Borodin, Mayer, Evan Premo and a selection of Nordic folk music by Ale Carr, Sam Sweeney, Rune Sørensen and Stundom. In tandem with the writing of Billy Collins, Amanda Gorman, Niall Williams and Vermont's own Julie Cadwallader Staub, this program shows how words and music combine to enhance and illuminate each other, or stand alone entirely in their individual beauty.
It's a concert not to be missed!

Performers:
Jane Kittredge; violin, curator
Ben Lively; violin, guitar, arranger
Ana Ruesink; viola
John Dunlop, cello
Susan Cooke Kittredge and Julie Cadwallader Staub, narrators

Admission is free. The evening is generously sponsored by the Pierson Library's Second Wednesday Series.
