Fruit Trees 101 - An outdoor workshop for aspiring, beginner and intermediate home fruit tree growers. We'll demonstrate choosing trees, site prep and planting both bare root and potted trees. We'll also cover training vs. pruning, feeding and watering and protecting your trees from the creatures and pathogens that would pillage and sack your new planting if given the chance. Zeke Goodband, who's been growing trees and managing orchards since Gerald Ford was President, will be your pomological guide. There is no question too dumb to ask. The workshop is FREE but class size is limited and advance registration is requested. The class will take place on Saturday April 29 from 10 to 11:30, rain or shine at Bad Goose Farm and Orchard, 158 Houghton Rd in Dummerston.
