Hello friends!

Tarot class at Mountain Rose resumes this week after a month hiatus. We will be taking on the Major Arcana, the oldest part of the tarot, in a 3 part series. This is the section of the deck that contains the archetypal elements and characters of the tarot. It starts with the Fool who wanders through all the aspects of life until he returns to the beginning having gained mastery of the World. These aspects group neatly into 3 categories, the conscious, the subconscious, and the spiritual, hence the 3 part series. It is easy to see how this tracks with Freud's concept of id, ego, and superego, or Maslow's 3 tiered hierarchy. This week's class will be devoted to studying the first section of the Major Arcana that focuses on the worldly concerns of life and society.

If you have been curious about tarot class, this is a perfect time to jump in! We are at the beginning of the Fool's journey through the wheel of the tarot. Study of this section alone can provide valuable insight into tarot as a whole. All are welcome to join us as we delve into the Major Arcana!

As always, there will be ample decks on hand for practice, and there is a fabulous selection of decks available for purchase. You are welcome to bring your own cards too.
