Lincoln School District Budget Information Night

Feb 11, 2025, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Join the School Board and your neighbors to learn more about the proposed FY26 School Budget. We will gather on February 11, 2025, from 6:30-7:30 pm, downstairs in Burnham Hall. (zoom link to follow) Here are some budget highights:

The Board strongly supports the FY26 budget we are presenting to voters at Town Meeting. We believe this spending plan responsibly and sustainably balances current District needs, investments for the future, and prudent management of uncertainty, and does so with respect for taxpayers.

The Board started the FY26 budget season acknowledging that this year has been extremely challenging for many Lincoln taxpayers, and set a goal for an education spending increase of no more than 3% over the current year. We're very pleased to report that our adopted budget reflects a 0.4% increase, well within our target, while maintaining all current programs and services. At the same time, the district saw a modest increase in total weighted pupils, which means a reduction in per-pupil spending of 8.3%

Our estimated post-CLA tax rate for FY26 is $1.0572. This is a 16.4% decrease compared to the current year's rate and corresponds to a $208 reduction in Homestead taxes per $100,000 of assessed home value.
