The Mad River Path Association and Four Winds Present
“A Year of Exploration”
On the Mad River Path 2013-14
A hands-and-minds-on professional development opportunity for grown-ups, each workshop offers:
• Current research and background information on the positive impacts on child development of time spent in nature
• Reflection and collaboration for integrating regular unstructured time outside into your day.
• An introduction to the local natural highlights of each season, what are you likely to find and can explore with children outside in Autumn, Winter and Spring?

There is no charge to participate in this series of three workshops for interested early childhood teachers and parents/grandparents, but advanced registration is required.

September 12, 3:30-5:30, Warren Path, Autumn in the Field: Come discover life in a field in autumn, and the many preparations underway by plants and animals as they get ready for winter. Please register by September 3.

January 9, 3:30-5:30, The Mill Brook Trail, The Wonder of Winter: As we walk along the Mill Brook trail, we will investigate and observe a variety of strategies used by plants and animals to survive the season.

April 17, 3:30-5:30, Path TBD, Sensing Spring: Join us as we explore the path with all of our senses and celebrate this busy time of renewal for plants and animals.
