Moon Belly Circle is an 8-week summer program for 12-15 year old girls, gender-fluid, non-binary and trans participants. We will gather on Tuesdays June 27th - August 15th from 9am-4pm at the Wheeler Homestead in South Burlington (with occasional days at the South Village Farm in South Burlington).
At the core, Moon Belly Circle is an outdoor program, heart-fully guided to support us in our connection to the earth, to our bodies, to each other, and to the food we nourish ourselves with. We will sprinkle our days with games to know each other on deeper levels, quiet reflection time, personal sharing, and joyous family style lunch feasts in the gardens.
A "day in the life" of Moon Belly Circle:
9 am drop off & morning circle
Activity 1: Greet the land & meet the plants walk
Snack at the river
Activity 2: Milling & meeting relationship game
*Nourishment time: community lunch prep and shared family-style meal*
Followed by solo reflection, and rest time
Afternoon Community workshop: Wild plant harvest & medicine making
Closing: "Topics" conversation and closing circle
4 pm pick up
Together, in a small group, we will ...
-Dismantle diet-culture falsities and replace them with evidence-based gentle-nutrition truths
-Engage in nature-based activities that encourage creativity, mindfulness, and communication skills
-Enjoy the safety and intimacy of community-learning
-Empower ourselves through body literacy, tools for holistic wellness, and a language of self-love
