LAKE CHAMPLAIN FISHING PRESENTATION AT SOUTH HERO BICENTENNIAL MUSEUM
Bring all your "Big Fish" tales to the South Hero Bicentennial Museum on Thursday July 31 at 1:30 P.M. Rhey Plumley, former manager of the Classic Outfitters sports shop in South Burllington, will be on hand to share and compare stories of Fishing on Lake Champlain. Rhey has been an avid fisherman for over thirty years and has traveled the country in search of the best fishing locations. He has taught fly tying and casting extensively throughout Vermont and beyond. He will share his expertise on fly fishing for cold water species including Lake Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Steelhead and Brown Trout. Rhey will also discuss his special tactics and techniques for securing Large and Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Panfish.
While the tales are gaining momentum, Rhey will tie flies and have a couple extra fly tying vises on hand for anyone who cares to try their luck at this art form. Both adults and age appropriate kids are welcome to participate. There will be a display of tackle, and flies will be available for sale with proceeds to benefit the museum. Rhey will feature the new Governor Aitken Bucktail Streamer which has recently been signed into law as the official state fly.
This presentation will be ongoing throughout the regular Thursday museum hours of 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. Weather permitting, the event will be outside. We hope everyone will take the opportunity to explore our special museum and discover some of the amazing artifacts that brings the story of the town of South Hero vividly to life.
