Virtual Artist Talk with Anne Thompson

Vermont Studio Center will host a Virtual Artist Talk with Anne Thompson as a part of ongoing Virtual VSC programming. This virtual artist talk will take place on Wednesday, April 26, at 7:00 pm ET on Zoom. This event is free and open to the public. Please register in advance to receive a private Zoom link. Anne Thompson is a visual arts faculty member at Bennington College, where she is director and curator of the Suzanne Lemberg Usdan Gallery.

In addition, Thompson founded and curated the I-70 Sign Show, a nationally acclaimed public-art billboard and event project that positioned the Midwestern Interstate as a corridor for cultural and political commentary. She has been awarded fellowships at Epicenter; the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute; the Women's Studio Workshop; and the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

Her artist's books are in library collections including The Clark Art Institute, Harvard University, MIT, the New York Public Library and Yale University, among others. Her curatorial projects have been featured in publications and media outlets including Artforum, The Believer, Good Trouble, NPR, the New York Times, and PAD (Public Art Dialogue).

Before receiving her MFA from Yale, Thompson was a foreign correspondent for the Associated Press. Thompson joined the Bennington College faculty in Fall 2017.
