State Rep. Adam Greshin, Independent candidate for re-election, Washington-7, will address the Moretown Republican Committee Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m. in the Moretown Elementary School. The public is welcome. Other business during the meeting will be the caucus for prospective Justices of the Peace in Moretown. Seven justices are eligible to serve for a two-year term. Candidates must be registered voters.
Justices of the Peace participate as members of the local Board of Civil Authority by reviewing the voter checklist and, participate with Tax Appeals as well as helping on Election Day and serving as a member of the Board of Tax Abatement. Justices of the Peace may also serve as a magistrate when commissioned by the Vermont Supreme Court.
