The VT Bluegrass Pioneers are a quartet featuring some of Vermont's top bluegrass pickers and singers who come from many years of performance experience in that musical genre. They consist of Banjo Dan Lindner (former front man of "Banjo Dan & the Mid-Nite Plowboys" who were one of Vermont's premier bluegrass bands for 40 yrs (1972-2012) on banjo/guitar/vocals; Dan's brother, Willy Lindner, also a founding member of the Plowboys, on mandolin/vocals; Montpelier's own Danny Coane on guitar/banjo/vocals and Sam Blagden (a Plowboy in the 70's) on bass/vocals. The Pioneers focus on lesser known material from the 1950's and 60's, plus they bring in a few originals. They have played Bent Nails Bistro previously, with excellent attendance and response. No cover, but donations are requested. Plus as an added bonus, their friend and fellow musician, Chad Hollister, will be going on and performing his material following the Pioneers' show.
